How to Check your ATL Status in FBR? (Updated-2023)

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has published the Active Taxpayers’ List (ATL) for Tax Year 2023 on March 1, 2024, in accordance with the provisions of Rule 81B of the Income Tax Rules, 2002. The ATL is published every financial year on March 1 and is valid until the last day of February of the next financial year.

Who is Included in the ATL 2024?

The ATL 2024 includes individuals who filed their income tax returns for Tax Year 2023 within the due date or the extended dates granted by the concerned Commissioner Inland Revenue or by FBR. Individuals who filed their tax returns after the due date will be updated in the ATL immediately upon the deposit of the surcharge.

How to Check ATL Status in 2024?

To check your ATL status in 2024:

  • For Individuals:
    • Type “ATL [space] 13 digits Computerized National Identity Card without dashes (CNIC)” and send it to 9966.
  • For AOP or Companies:
    • Type “ATL [space] 7 digits National Tax Number (NTN)” and send it to 9966.

ATL Surcharge for Late Filers

Individuals who have filed their income tax returns after the due date or the extended dates are required to pay a surcharge to be included in the ATL. The surcharge amounts are as follows:

  • Individuals: Rs. 1,000
  • Association of Persons (AOP): Rs. 10,000
  • Companies: Rs. 20,000
